Mama/Asher Date

Since Papa had the day off for MLK Day, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take my little buddy out for some Mama/Asher time. A date. While I was getting dressed, Papa told you that I was going to take you on a date. And he must have also slipped a twenty in your pocket because when I came downstairs, you walked up to me, pulled the twenty out and said, "My tweet?". You sure do know how to melt a girl's heart... So off we went to Grounds for Thought. You chose a blueberry bagel and I got a lemon poppyseed muffin w/my coffee. It was a pretty quiet morning at Grounds and we found a table all to ourselves right the children's books and play things. We nibbled and chatted. Stole a kiss here and there. You give them up so freely, I have to take advantage! Plus, those round rosy cheeks and plump lips practically call out for constant smoothes :) Then I picked out some books and read them to you as you munched on your bagel. Gradually, you made your way over to the toys. You probably spent 20 or 30 minutes playing "house" with the doll house and little people. I browsed the used books and used our store credit to purchase some to take home with us.

Before we headed home we stopped at Ben Franklin to play with Thomas and the other trains for a bit. As we left, we got two balloons. One for you and one for Sissy. You picked a purple one with green string for yourself, and a neon pink one with white string for Sis. Your purple balloon popped almost immediately after we got home. Must have been something on the kitchen ceiling because it broke on contact. To our surprise, you did not cry. Just looked at it and said, "Purple broke". You were happy enough to play with the pink balloon and wanted to wake your sleeping sister just to give it to her.

It was a really sweet time together, my Asher boy. You're so fun and such a good sport. I'm so blessed to be your Mama and to be able to share this life with you.
